Barbara Denise 'Bibbs' Perkins

June 6, 1964 — September 25, 2015

Ms. Barbara Denise Bibbs Perkins passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 51 years. She was born to Estella Bibbs on June 6, 1964 in Greenwood, Mississippi.
Barbara accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour at an early age. She was a member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church under leadership of Pastor Paul E. Broaddus. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School. Barbara enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to the blues and gospel music, and making people laugh. She was known to be quite outspoken. As a matter of fact, Barbara said to Smokey If anything happens to me, feed them cheap crackers and bologna. Barbara will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Estella Bibbs; her companion of 20 years, Ervin Harris of Saginaw, Michigan; one daughter and two sons, William J. (Kamari) Bibbs, Tameka Perkins Manns, and John (Bria) Perkins Jr., all of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Laquavis, William, Dontray, Dequantaize, Lashayla, Janiya, Amariona and Dequavion; special grandchildren whom she raised, Ethan, Jeremiah and Zaevion; one great-grandchild, Khalil Cooper; six sisters, Ollie Cox, Helen Bibbs, Katherine Tolden and Mary Jackson all of Mississippi, Gloria Bibbs and Deborah Green of Saginaw, Michigan; two brothers, Walter (Sue) Bibbs and Jasper Bibbs of Saginaw, Michigan; many nieces and nephews; one aunt, Jo-Anna Green of Jackson, Mississippi; a special cousin, Mercy Mert Jones; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Anne, Denise, Lalesha Forte Boose, Valarie Gray, Kathy Honeman and Blaine Youngblood, all of Saginaw, Michigan.
Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Lendell Bibbs, uncle, Charlie Tolden, three aunts, Jimmie Laury, Wilma Tolden and Louise Banks, nephew, Jeremy Tolden.
The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant Hospital staff and to those who visited Barbara and comforted our family during this difficult time.
