Barbara Grant

November 12, 1934 — June 8, 2017

Mrs. Barbara Grant passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte, Michigan at the age of 82. She was born November 12, 1934 to Cecil Guerin and Bertha Bourdelais in Boston, Massachusetts.

As a young woman, Barbara met the love of her life, Namon Grant, whom she married on April 19, 1956 in Willow Run, Michigan. They were married for 61 wonderful years and were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Gail and Michelle.

Barbara had a wide variety of talents and interests including painting, photography, gardening, puzzles, music, crocheting, knitting, reading, board games and cards. She loved spending time with family and friends and looking at Facebook pictures of those she loved. Barbara taught photograph retouching and airbrushing at Washtenaw Community College. She also sold Mary Kay and Avon for years and even won a Mary Kay car! There was never a dull moment with Barbara!

Prior to her illness she enjoyed involvement with her church activities. Over the years she taught Sunday school, wrote and printed the church bulletins, and held various other church positions.

Barbara leaves many who cherish her memory, her devoted husband Namon Grant; her lovely daughters, Gail (Grant) Beck of Traverse City and Michelle (Grant) Richardson of Wixom; five Grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Caskey of Traverse City, Kristine R. Caskey of Traverse City, Lindsey L. (Koenig) Scranton of Traverse City, Brandon J. Henson of Dallas, Texas and Joshua T. Henson of Royal Oak; and one brother, Stanley Guerin. She also had six Great Grandchildren and two Great Great Grandchildren whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters, Jeanne Guerin Cloke and Yvonne Guerin DeCaire.
