Barbara "Bobbie" Pate (Lansing)

Ms. Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Pate passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at University of Michigan Health – Sparrow Lansing. Age 68 years. She was born March 22, 1956, in Jackson, Mississippi. The daughter of Daisy Manuel-Pate and Leon Pate Sr.

Bobbie Jean and her family migrated to Lansing, Michigan when she was a child. She had 2 sons and 2 daughters at a young age and persevered through many obstacles in life. In addition to her own children, she was a second mom to her many nieces and nephews. Bobbie had a big heart and she loved cooking, playing cards, and watching westerns, scary movies, Good Times, The Jeffersons, and Sanford and Son. Bobbie Jean loved spending time with her family and was a steady force in so many lives. She was a loving and dependable mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a woman of few words, but her vibrant smile, helping hands and innocent spirit will live on forever.

Bobbie leaves to cherish her memory children, Michelle (Dave) McCloud, Gregory White, and Shannon Sanders; grandchildren, David McCloud, Cee Self – Dominique (Serene) McCloud, Damien McCloud, Jasmariah White, Delon McCloud, Alicia White, and Aa’Niya White; 10 great grandchildren (6 boys and 4 girls); sisters, Nora Pate, Loretta Pate, and Virginia Pate; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her son, Delon Pate; parents, Daisy and Leon Pate; brothers, Leon Pate Jr., and John Pate.
