Bernardo Ramon, Jr.

February 26, 1959 — January 31, 2021

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away in his home Sunday, January 31, 2021 in Saginaw, Michigan.

Bernardo “Big Ben” Ramon Jr. was born on February 26, 1959 to Bernardo Sr. and Virginia Ramon in Edenburg, Texas. In 1965, Benny moved to Saginaw, Michigan with his parents and was educated in Saginaw Public Schools. He married Josephine Garza October 13, 1978 and two children were born to this union.

Benny attended Sacred Heart Church for many years. He worked for Houlihan Construction for several years before retiring. He enjoyed playing cards, daily lottery, fishing and working on cars. He really loved cooking, listening to Mexican music and spending time with his family. Bernardo will always be remembered for his big heart.

Bernardo was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo Sr. and Virginia Ramon; grandparents, Jose and Maria Ramon, Francisco and Virginia Paez; sisters, Della Delacruz, Gloria Castro; father and mother-in-law, Roberto and Manuela Garza; brother-in-law, Roberto Garza.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 42 years, Josephine Ramon; two daughters, Regina (Clarence Jr.) Russell, Alma (Marcus) Ramon, both of Saginaw, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Clarence Russell III, Iesha Luna, Anthony Ramon (Shirley Sawvel), LeMonte Ramon, Candiance Russell, Asianna Ramon (Sherman Bell Jr.), Willie Humphrey III; sixteen great-grandchildren, all of Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, Rolando Ramon, Saginaw, Michigan; sisters, Rosemary (Miguel) Delacruz, Zilwaukee, Michigan, Nancy Ponce, Sandra Ramon, both of Saginaw, Michigan; brother-in-law, Richard Delacruz, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan; special nephew, Rolando Ramon Jr., Saginaw, Michigan; special niece, Sabrina Guajardo, Texas; many other dear loved ones and friends, including special friends Mark (Judy) Graham, Jerry Wilburn and Trinidad Cirillo, all of Saginaw, Michigan.

The family wishes to express special thanks to our relatives and friends for their kind expressions of concern and heartfelt sympathy during our bereavement. May God richly bless each and every one of you.
