Our beloved Mother Bessie Mae Parm gained her heavenly wings on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 92 years. She was born February 27, 1921 in Rayville, Louisiana to Henry and Lulia Franklin.
In 1943 Bessie joined Henry Parm in holy matrimony. He preceded her in death. Bessie relocated to Saginaw, Michigan in 1952 and lived with the Franklin family. Later that same year, she became a member of Harris Temple COGIC. She loved the Lord, read her bible daily and lived her life by the word. She would often sit in her favorite chair and read the word. Mother Parm never stopped associating with sinners. She always quoted the bible verse, Its not the righteous and healthy that need help, its the sick and sinners Matthew 9:13. Another quote she often would say, Its a bad wind that never changes. While living in California, she worked at the ship yards during World War II and while in Saginaw she worked at Even-Tide Home for the Aging. She enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Dragnet for many years. Her presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory four daughters, Catherine Mitchell of Ohio, Gloria Mummons of California, Juanita Douglas of Illinois, Diane Blackshire of Michigan; three sons, James Henry Parm of California, Vernal and Saladine Parm of Michigan; many other relatives and friends including all of her specials friends whom Mother Bessie held close to her heart. Mother Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lulea Franklin; husband, Henry Parm, daughter, Denise Parm, one son, Mark Parm.
