Bettie Washington

Ms. Bettie Washington passed away on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 65 years. She was born January 28, 1958, in Wetumpka, Alabama, to Willie Mae Sears.

Bettie graduated from Wetumpka High School. She moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where she enjoyed worshipping at Zion Baptist Church. Bettie also attended Delta College. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson. Bettie will be greatly missed.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Kirkland O. Washington Jr.; two grandsons Elijah G. Washington and Kirkland F. Washington; three sisters, Louise Sears, Lula Pierson, Debra (Ronald) McKethern, and Shane Sears; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bettie was preceded in death by her husband, Kirkland Washington Sr.; her mother, Willie Mae Sears; father, Ruben Sears, Sr.; brother, Ruben Sears, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Whitney, and Lottie Sears.
