Betty attended Saginaw schools and worked outside her home for several years having served in many roles from employment at Princing and Brennan Pharmacy, Vescio's Grocery, and Delta College. Her most important roles, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and surrogate mother for many that grew up around her. Prior to her move to California, she was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Saginaw, Michigan under the leadership of Pastor Huggins, Pastor Bowman, and Pastor Saunders.
