Betty J Truss

Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, Betty Jean Truss passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 48 years. She was born April 4, 1964 in Sunflower, Mississippi to Elmore Dixon and Dorothy Truss.
Betty was a 1982 graduate of Bridgeport High School. She loved spending quality time with her family and friends. Betty enjoyed laughing, telling jokes, watching movies, dancing and playing cards. She was always the life of the party. Betty will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Shaniqua S. Truss, Alexis B. Troublefield; one son, Xavier J. Truss; her mother, Dorothy Truss; stepfather, Alonzo Turner; grandmother, Callie C. Truss; god-mother, Quida (Willie) McGee; one sister, Linda F. Turner; one niece, Fredderika O. Turner (Jermarris D. Russell); one nephew, Eddie C. Rogers III, one great-nephew, Jermari J. Russell; two aunts, Flora (Quincy) Freeman, Battle Creek, Michigan, Peggy Ann Jones, Saginaw, Michigan; seven uncles, Jimmie (Otistean) Truss, Horrace Truss and JT (Rita) Truss, all of Saginaw, Michigan, Willie Truss, Indianola, Mississippi, Fred (Tina) Truss, Earnest Truss and Terry (Char) Truss, all of Battle Creek, Michigan, several aunts and uncles of the Turner family from Saginaw, Michigan and Chicago, Illinois; two special cousins, Kim Banks and Terrhonda Watkins (Boo); many other relatives and friends including special friends, Eddie Halmon, Esther Sanders, Valerie (Kim) Williams.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Elmore Dixon; her grandparents, Jimmie and Myrdis Truss.
The family would like to express special thanks to Covenant-Cooper, Ivan E. Phillips and the staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel and New Life Missionary Baptist Church. The family would also like to acknowledge with sincere appreciation the many comforting messages, floral tributes and other expressions of kindness evident at this time in thought and deed.
