Our beloved Betty Joe Riha passed away on Monday, May 12, 2014 at her residence. Age 40 years. She was born on May 18, 1973 in Jackson, Mississippi to Roosevelt and Airon Louise Thornton.
Betty was a member of New Bethel AME Church in Sallis, Mississippi. She attended Long Creek Elementary School in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She moved to Saginaw at an early age and attended Central and Webber Middle School. She loved joking and having fun with her friends and family. Betty loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory her father, Roosevelt; one sister, Georgia Jones; two brothers, James Thornton, Willie Roundtree; four nieces, Shameka A. Thornton, Tiffany Thornton, Ashley Thornton, and Janice Roundtree; five nephews, Robert Thornton, Thomas Thornton, Willie Roundtree, Darrell Jones Jr. and Junior Roundtree; four aunts, Inez Hoover, Nola Thornton, Lucy Love and Lizz Thornton; three uncles, John Thornton, Richard Thornton, and Junior Thornton; one brother-in-law, Darrell Jones Sr.; many other relatives and friends including special friends Wanda Givens and James Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Airon Louise Thornton; grandmother, Mary E. Reed; two brothers, Earl J. Thornton and Jerome Roundtree; aunt, Katie Roundtree.
