Ms. Beverly Ann Jones, affectionately known as “Sister” and “BJ”, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 17, 2021 at her residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 68 years. BJ was born July 25, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan to David Jackson and Lula Mae Walker.
BJ attended Saginaw Public Schools and Job Corps. She was a member of True Love Temple Church. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She was well known around the Saginaw area due to her employment at the Perkins Bar, Jones Food Market, and Arthur Eddy Academy. While working at Arthur Eddy Academy, BJ formed a circle of friends and family. All of the staff and kids loved her, especially Tiffany Pruitt, whom she adopted as her niece. She showed the kids tough love in an effort to prepare them for life’s journey.
BJ leaves to cherish her memory two brothers and two sisters, Edward (Vera) Jones, Birch Run, Michigan, Ester III (Jo Ann) Jones, Pembroke Pines, Florida, Catherine Wilson, Saginaw, Michigan, and Stephanie Walker, Frisco Texas; nephew she claimed as her son, Vincent Jones; two goddaughters, Reather LaShon Smith and Monica Coleman; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including close friends Pat Chatman, Barbara Williams and the McKnight Family whom she adopted as her close family.
BJ was preceded in death by her parents, David Jackson and Lula Mae Walker; grandparents, James and Lula Usher; brothers, Ronnie and Lonnie Jones.
