Billy Ray Terrell, Sr.

November 9, 1952 — June 9, 2020

Billy Ray Terrell, Sr. was born on November 9,1952 in El Dorado, Arkansas, the son of Willie and Norsie Lee (Allen) Terrell. He departed this life on June 9,2020 at Ascension St. John Moross Hospital in Detroit, Michigan.

At an early age, Billy accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with Morning Star Baptist Church No.2 in El Dorado, Arkansas. He was a member of The Sunshine Band and the choir. He attended El Dorado High School. Billy loved to pray, read his Bible, talk about the goodness of God and give advice. His hobbies also included hunting, fishing, playing dominos, dancing, singing, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with his family.

As an adult, Billy moved to Saginaw, Michigan where he was employed with General Motors and took classes as a skilled tradesman. He met and married the love of his life, Ms. Evelyn Louise Rogan and to their union four beautiful children were born.

Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Terrell; beloved parents, Willie and Norsie Lee Terrell; one sister, Willie Mae Terrell; three brothers, Guy Anthony, Adell and Lee Gusta Terrell.

He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Stacy (Dawayne) Terrell-Hill, Shawanda Terrell-New and Ashley Terrell, all of Detroit, Michigan; one son, Billy Ray Jr. (Doris) Terrell, Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Ladarrus (Surany), Quinton (Casaundra), Arlesha, Archia, Jaren, Keneisha, Alexis, Joecari, JaKolby, Brionta, MyIesha, Olivia, Nevaeh, Harmony, Symitria, Kaliesia, Billy III, TraVandis, Ny’Asia, Neamiah and Reylah; great-grandchildren, Atlantis, Cataleya, Jordan, Shane Jr., Malaya, Ariyah, Carter, and Adonis; three sisters, Ann Terrell Dickerson, Detroit, Michigan, LaVera (Curtis) Riggins, Saginaw, Michigan, Lady Delores (Superintendent Herman) Hayes, El Dorado, Arkansas; godchildren, Talisha, Cassidy, Khari; many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends, including special friends Hazel Denham and John Miller.

The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Ascension St. John Moross Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
