Mr. Bob Barnes, Jr. passed away Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Covenant Healthcare-Harrison. Age 74 years. He was born October 5, 1941 in Panola, Alabama to Matthew and Eva Barnes.
Mr. Barnes attended Saginaw Public Schools. He was employed by General Motors for 10 years and was a member of UAW Local 668. Bob was an avid fisherman, loved cooking, game shows, especially Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and The Price is Right. He also enjoyed playing the Daily Lottery and Lucky Weekly Winner, going to the casino and listening to music, especially his favorite artists, B.B. King and Bobby Blue Bland. Bobs favorite word was QUICK! He was known in the community and hospitals as a kind, friendly, respected, humorous and gentle soul. If you needed anything, come to Bob and you would get it!
He leaves to cherish his memory four daughters, Joanne Lister, Marlette Barnes, Cynthia Young-Shephard and Crystal Young; two sons, Robbie Barnes and Fred Barnes; one stepdaughter, Nita Barnes; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Katie Beachum; many other relatives and friends including Marjorie Young-Sanders.
Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Eva Barnes, one brother, Johnnie Barnes, one sister, Annie Pruitt, two brothers-in-law, Odie Pruitt, II and Gene Beachum; cousins, Bobbie Wilson and Roosevelt Barnes, his former wife and longtime friend, Margie Barnes.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at Healthsource, Heartland Hospice of Bay City, and Covenant Healthcare-Harrison.
