Bobbie Grace Vanlanham passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at her residence. Age 78 years. She was born February 28, 1934 in Stamps, Arkansas to Ruben and Losie Washington.
Bobbie was employed as a head cook for several years at Holiday Inn and Healthsource Saginaw, formerly known as Saginaw Community Hospital. She was a faithful member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. Bobbie was a social member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed fishing and cooking.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Debra (Charles) Baston; three sons, Duane (Annie) Vanlanham, Walter Cureton Jr., Fred Crow, all of Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, Anthony (Connie), Marcus (Shannon), Demonta, Brandon, Lashay, Naomi, Kevin Vanlanham, all of Texas, Crystal, Leslie, Duane, Dion, Sharice, Derrick, Bobie Vanlanham, Charles Jr., Setira all of Saginaw, Michigan, Walter Cureton III, South Carolina; four sisters, Betty Johnson, Doris Merrill, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Patricia Washington, Mary Washington both of Arkansas; three brothers, Arthur Washington and Robert Washington, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Marcellos Washington, California; one aunt, Zoredie Hicks; one sister-in-law, Yvonne Washington; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Lula Butler, Catherine Clark, Loretta King.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Ruben and Losie Washington; four brothers, James, Gene, J.C. and Houston Washington; one daughter, Shirley Vanlanham; significant other, Walter Cureton Sr.
The family would like to express special thanks to her caregivers, Ashanta Welch, Anthony Baston and Heartland Hospice.
