Bobby Ray Young

Mr. Bobby Ray Young gained his eternal wings and flew into the kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the age of 73 years. He was born on April 30, 1941 in Taylorsville, Mississippi to Ruby Mae (Sullivan) Burnell and Elsie Young.
Bobby was a resident of Bridgeport, Michigan. He was a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor E.W. Bothuel. Bobby retired in 1995 from General Motors Grey Iron Metal Casting Plant after 32 years of service where he demonstrated successful leadership abilities in a supervisory position. In July 1999 he joined Ethelstyne Bivens in holy matrimony. She survives him. Bobby had a gift of working with his hands. He was an excellent gardener and carpenter. He loved to build things. Bobby enjoyed traveling and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Gone but never forgotten, his wonderful presence will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ethelstyne Young; four daughters, Priscilla Young, Barbara Harrison, DeWanna (Eric) King and Trishuan Raoof; three sons, Bobby Ray Jr., Raynard Darby and Thomas Bivins; nine grandchildren, Coqueenia, Donald, Ashley (Robert), Raven, Ravon, Travon, Justyce, Genesis and Zakiyah; his mother, Ruby Mae Burnell; three sisters, Mary (Clyde) White, Shirley Drain and Barbara (Reverend Ronald) Turner; two brothers, Herschel (Jerri) Burnell and Donald (Jackie) Burnell; mother-in-law, Johnnie M. Darby; two sisters-in-law, Clara Cooper and Linda (Garl) Hollingsworth; two brothers-in-law, Edward and John Darby; many other relatives and friends including his special friends, James McGee, Lefty Walker, Wilkie Haynes and Willie Morris.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Elsie Young; three sisters, Jettye Young, Irene Mannie and Mattie Long; one brother, Clifton Cooper; father-in-law, Jeff Darby.
