Bobby Thompson passed away Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the age of 78 in the comfort of his home. He was born March 7, 1935 in Louisville, Mississippi to Nadge and Ella Thompson.
Bobby dedicated his life to Christ at an early age in Louisville, Mississippi. He started a new chapter of his life when he arrived in Saginaw, Michigan in 1972.
Bobby was a faithfull member of Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church where he served as a Deacon. Bobby was employed at General Motors Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry and was a member of UAW Local 668. In his leisure time he loved to sing, dance, barbeque and spend time with family. Bobby was loved by all who knew him. His presence will truly be missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Claudia Thompson; two sons, Davell Thompson of Saginaw, MI, Terrance (Lanisha) Spiller of Kalamazoo, MI, three daughters, Jeanette Coleman and Glendora Mcdaniel of Louisville, MS, Katrina (Timothy) Osborne of Farmington Hills, MI, three sisters, Ella Louise Friday (Tubbie) of Jackson, MS; Rosie Lee Fulwiley, Addie Mae Haynes, of Louisville, MS, two brothers Genary Thompson (Pearlie) of PA, David T. Thompson (Irma) of Detroit, MI, six sisters-in-law, Martha Weatherspoon, Judy Marshall, Phyllis Marshall of Saginaw, MI, Esther Baker of Kalamazoo, MI, Marilyn Hines (Billy Ray), Shirley Hudson of Portage, MI, Annie Mae Smith of Hayti, MO, four brothers-in-law, Willie (Nadine) Baker, Robert (Anitra) Baker, Milton (Shirley) Marshall, of Saginaw, MI, Anthony (Shirley) Baker of Kalamazoo, MI, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren,14 great great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Nadge and Ella Thompson; mother and father in-law James and Mildred Baker; brother, Theodis Thompson; sisters, Hattie Pearl Harper and Annie Mae Carter; son-in-law Jack McDaniel, brothers-in-law, Charles Smith Sr., JT Friday, Buford Haynes and Gregory Marshall Sr.
The family would like to express special thanks to Martha Ann Weatherspoon, J.T. and Shirley Jones, Dr. Gary Brooks and Covenant Visiting Nurses Hospice Division.
