Precious Memories of Mrs. Bonnie Gene Allen

The Lord called home one of his special angels, our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Bonnie G. Allen  was born on March 21, 1939 in Jackson, Tennessee, to the late Sam and Lessie Fentress. Bonnie peacefully made her transition at the Toni and Trish House (Auburn, MI) on August 19, 2023, at the age of 84.

Bonnie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. For many years, Bonnie was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gregory Johnson, but most recently attended Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Blake Strozier with her daughter, Linda. Bonnie married Willie A. Jones Sr. and to this union six children were born; he preceded her in death. She later married Reverend Lawson Allen who also preceded her in death.

Bonnie leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Linda Fentress (John), Saginaw, MI, and Denise (Hank) Marshall, Winston Salem, NC; four sons, Willie Jones Jr., Elkhart, IN, Anthony (Marcia) Jones, Saginaw, MI, Darrell (Keela) Jones, Romulus, MI, and Craig (Tanya) Jones, Macomb, MI; one stepson, Willie “Chip” (Josie) Mims, Nashville, TN; one sister, Vera (Cliff) Meriweather; and two sisters-in-law, Callie Fentress and Brenda (Burley) Hairston; three brothers, Thomas (Brooxie), Joe, and Murray Fentress; two brothers-in-law, John (Tracey) Jones and Tommy Allen; 22 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including special friends, Jeraldine Mills, Ethel Dugan, Hazel Roberts, and Betty Bibb.

Bonnie was welcomed into Heaven by one sister, Hazel Ellison; five brothers, Wilson, Pressie, Samuel, Harvey, and John Fentress; three sisters-in-law, Anna, Burnie, and Mattie Fentress; and one brother-in-law, Raymond Ellison.

The family would like to thank the staff at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper (6th floor) and the Toni and Trish House (Auburn, MI).
