Brenda Joyce Lee, beloved Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, went home to be with God on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Covenant Healthcare at the age of 69. Brenda was born May 9, 1950 in Little Rock, Arkansas to June Williams and Johnnie Bowman.

Brenda accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and rededicated her life when she had her oldest child, after she was told she could not have children. She was a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Dr. Roosevelt Austin when her health failed her. Brenda was faithful and dedicated to her ministry and that was inspiring.

After leaving Arkansas, Brenda married Freddie Lee Jr. in Benton Harbor, Michigan. The two were married for 25 years before he predeceased her. She worked for Saginaw Public Schools District for 25 years as a head lunch cook, before and after the bell program, friendship games, and community education department.

Brenda was predeceased by her husband, Freddie Lee, Jr.; parents, Johnnie Bowman and June Williams; granddaughter, Shaquana; brother, Derrick; grandparents, Eugene and Viryl; uncles, Charles, Milton, David, Richard; aunts, Mona and Georgia.

She leaves to celebrate her life five daughters and four sons, Lashawn (Michael), Izetta, Freddie III, Ferrell, June (Sam), Fransco, Michelle, Johnnie, Freedom; bonus mother, Iola Bowman, Bouthell, Nevada; siblings, Dwints (Dale), Vernon, Dora, both of Arkansas, Larry (Marilyn), Saginaw, Michigan, Michelle, Nevada; godchildren, Frentresa Smith, Ondre Pipkins, Darrell Harris, Jr., Ricardo Wooten; her daily inspiration, Nehemiah Carter; special uncle, Preston Bowman, Arkansas; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including special friends Jacqueline Strothers, Lena Mae Green, Barbara Bady, Katrina Warren and Mr. John.
