Brenda Lee Boatman

Ms. Brenda Lee Boatman passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Toledo, Ohio at the age of 54 years. She was born February 26, 1962 in Saginaw, Michigan to Tempie Mae Foster and Willie Boatman.

Brenda attended Saginaw Public Schools and graduated from Saginaw High School. She was a member of Burk Memorial Church of the Nazarene under the leadership of Pastor Sparks. Brenda was employed at St. Lukes Hospital, currently Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, going to the internet caf, and attending church. Brenda loved the color purple, just as her daughter does. She especially loved being with her grandchildren. Brenda will be dearly missed by all those who loved and adored her.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Ruthtanya Tiann Smothers of Toledo, Ohio; three grandchildren, RTayon Lee Smothers, Marquavon Anthony Smothers, and JNiya Brenda Smothers of Toledo, Ohio; three sisters, Linda Boatman, Elizabeth Boatman, Vanita Boatman; one brother, Willie Boatman; parents, Tempie Mae Foster and Willie Boatman; eight nieces, Media Wilkins, Mela Wilkins, Liesha Boatman, Debra Boatman, Milini Riley, Nonina Boatman, Vanita Boatman, Shivetta Smothers; six nephews, Marvin Wilkins, Marlon Wilkins, Myron Wilkins, Damien Boatman, Jason Boatman, Calvin Boatman; three aunts, Willie Mae Campbell of Saginaw, Michigan, Earleen Hanley and Emma Wise of Wichita, Kansas; one uncle, Tommy Boatman; many other cousins, relatives, and friends including her boyfriend, Bobby Smith, and special friend, Brenda Thomas.
Brenda was preceded in death by two sisters, Debra Boatman, Mary Louise Boatman-Wilkins; three brothers, Samuel Stafford, Tommy Stafford, Joe Louis Boatman; three uncles, William C. Boatman, Daniel Lee Boatman, W. J. Boatman; two aunts, Bessie Burnside, Annie Burnside; and grandparents, Emmaline and Chap Boatman.
