Brenda Lee Mcgee

March 25, 1960 — December 9, 2020

Our beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2020 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Brenda Lee McGee was born March 25, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan to Gordie and Bessie McGee.

Brenda graduated from Saginaw High School, “Class of 1978.” She attended Saginaw Business Institute where she mastered becoming a stenographer. Later on, she furthered her education and attended Dorsey Schools, graduating with her CNA Certificate. Brenda worked several jobs all around Saginaw, but her passion was caring for others. She worked 20+ years in the healthcare field, assisting the elderly and caring for children. In her free time, she loved getting her nails done, listening to music, playing cards, and laughing.

Brenda dedicated her life to Christ at an early age because she loved the Lord. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Episcopal Church for over fifteen years, under the leadership of Pastor Judith Boli. She helped teach Sunday school to her “church babies.” This is what she called the kids.

Brenda’s smile could light up a room. Her bubbly personality attracted so many people. You could always find her cracking jokes and giving everyone nicknames. She was the neighborhood Auntie and all the kids loved her. Brenda had a heart for God and people and she will truly be missed.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Gordie and Bessie McGee; brother, Lorenzo Hughes; grandparents, Jonnie Rosie Shells.

She leaves beautiful memories with four wonderful children, KeAngela McGee, Keyone Howlett, Kascia Howlett and her only son, Kemann Terry; eight sisters, Linda (Sylvester) Howard, Diane Hughes, Jacqueline Richards, Sharon Hughes, Elaine Banks, Georgina Bands, Cynthia Moten, and Loreatha Hughes; brothers, David Hughes, Ricky Pitman; special nieces, Shatisha, Sierra Wilson, Lekeyta Robinson; special cousin, Shirley Hughes; goddaughters, CoCo Lavender, Joslyn Jackson; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends, including specials friends Marcheeto, Mickey Lavender, Brenda Lavender, Jacqueline Lavender, Monica Swan, Dawn Howlett, and finally her supportive and loving companion, Stanley Henderson; she loved you like no other!
