Brian D. Thomas

July 31, 1965 — June 6, 2022

Mr. Brian Donnell Thomas “Blue” passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan.  Age 56 years.  He was born July 31, 1965, in Saginaw, Michigan to Laura Thomas and Clemton Richardson.


Brian was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan.  He united with New Life Baptist Ministries under the late Pastor Rufus Bradley Sr, continuing to serve faithfully under the leadership of Pastor Craig A. Tatum. Brian served in the area of Hospitality as an Usher/Greeter and Security.  He graduated from high school in 1983, and was employed at Hausbeck Pickle Company for many years. The past five years, Brian was a dedicated worker Peerless Steel.  He enjoyed working, sports, and fishing, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Brian was known as “The Grill Master.”


Brian leaves to cherish his memory his loving and  devoted wife of 35 years, Karen Marie Thomas; two sons, Lamar (Angelik) Shacks, Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Brian (Alexis) Thomas, Holland, Michigan; twelve grandchildren, La’mya, Kirstin, Triey, Kamari, Brian Jr, Paytiencee’, A’Mauri, Lamar Jr., Ayrion, Amena, Landen, and Aleria; grandparents, Adline Brown “Big Mama,” and Albert Thomas; four sisters, Brenda Thomas, Ernestine Jones, Sharon Jones, and Roshell Thomas; three brothers, Robert Thomas, Chris Thomas, and Anthony Pratt; many nieces, nephews, cousins; sisters-in-law, Sharon Simms, Katherine (Ernest) West, and Angela (Nathaniel) Harris; special brother-in-law, Anthony Davis; brother-in-law, Leon Davis; many other relatives and friends including a special niece, Zandiya Jones; special friends, Cameron Santos, Dwayne Rambo, John Wayne McFee, and Derrick Martin.


Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Clemton Richardson, and Laura Thomas; father-in-law, J.T. Anderson; mother-in-law, Carol Davis; sister, Shadana “Dina” Thomas; nieces, KaShawnda Jarmeisha Thomas; nephew, Dennis Davis; great-nephew, Delontae Carter; and sister-in-law, Jauan Davis.
