Mr. Brian Edward Morgan passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at his residence in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 52 years. He was born October 12, 1970, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Edward and Dorothy A. Morgan.
Brian was a member of New Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he served with the Laymen. He was a former member of Mt. Olive Institutional Missionary Baptist Church. Brian attended Charles C. Coulter, North Junior High, Buena Vista and Saginaw High Schools, Delta College, Northwood College, and Akron College in Ohio. Brian loved basketball, he played in the Gus Macker 3 on 3 Tournaments, AAU Basketball and was semi-pro with the Great Lakers, and they all called him “Flying Brian.” Brian was inducted into the Bay County Sports Hall of Fame in 2021. Brian was employed at LDG Financial for 10 years. He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing, eating his sister’s cooking, traveling, and joking around with his nieces. Brian will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish loving memories his wife, Shayla Morgan; one daughter, Jetta Morgan; two sons, Brian Jr., and Cameron; one granddaughter, Carmani Jarrett; one sister, Edie (Harry) Taylor, Saginaw, Michigan; one brother, Everett Morgan, Atlanta, Georgia; godparents, Mattie Thompson, Rose and Von Nickleberry, Mary Hughes, and Aaron Mitchell; godbrothers, Otis Ray and Arnell Johnson; nieces, Mylah and Amyrah Mitchell, Sade Morgan, Mercedes Lewis, Christina, Nia, and Robin Garcia, Saginaw, Michigan, and Gianna Robinson, Atlanta, Georgia; one nephew, Diego Santana Garcia; many aunts, uncles and cousins, including special cousins, Edith Coleman, Barbara Williams, Patricia Chapman, Zapora Everett, David Chapman, and Keith Chapman; mother-in-law, Linda Robinson; sister-in-law, Yolanda Robinson, Atlanta, Georgia; brother-in-law, Shannon (Yolanda) Robinson; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Michelle Baldwin, Cory Phillips, Jason Thompson, Larry Walker, Ervin Brown, Von Nickleberry, Jr., Mark Hughes, Rhonda Berry, John Turner, and Marshall Thomas, “Coach T.”
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Edward, and Dorothy Morgan; grandparents, Elvert Morgan, Janie Hendryx, Marcel and Chuck Coleman; aunts, Rita Coleman, and Georgia Lewis; uncle, Frank Leath, Florida; and godfather, Willie Thompson.
