Brother Yusuf Ameer Al-Lateef passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 76 years. He was born on October 13, 1946, in Macon, Mississippi, to Robert Lee Jackson and Mary Dee Beck.
Yusuf was a resident of the City of Saginaw, Michigan, where he was affiliated with the Islamic Center of Saginaw, 4330 N. Center Rd. He was a Veteran of the US Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge upon completion of his military service. Yusuf was employed for many years at General Motors (Buick) in Flint, Michigan. Yusuf was a videographer and photographer; he enjoyed taking pictures, especially of the annual family reunions. He was kind, thoughtful, honest, loyal, and sincere, and he truly loved Allah and his entire family.
He leaves to cherish loving memories, his wife, Juan DeSalle Al-Lateef, Saginaw, Michigan; one daughter and three sons, Robin Price, Ameer Al-Lateef, Bilal Al-Lateef, and Samir Al-Lateef; three stepchildren, Kashunda Santrece Clark, David Peters Jr., Tiffany LaVara Peters; grandchildren, Kendra Clark, Maceon Pearson, Victor Baker Jr., David Kendrick Peters, Breyonna Cox, Aries, Aaliyah, December, Aliyssa, Ameera, Alisha, and Ameer Al-Lateef; great-grandchildren, Kario James Joseph Boston, Kendrixx Josiah Boston, and Hunny Michelle Brown; three sisters, Gloria Taylor, Aretha Hairston, and Mary (Leslie) Addison; one brother, Otis Jackson (passed away 4 days after Yusuf); nieces, Krystal, Deloris, Nicole, Sade, Veliria, and Rosa; nephews, Richard, Anthony, and Otis II; great-nieces, Bella, and Mia; great-nephew, Mason; many other nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Odell Walker, Ernest, Ulysses, and Governor Dixon; sisters-in-law, Contessa (Bill) Jones, Jacqueline Dykes, Phetina Dixon, Llevewelyn (Ricky) Jones, and Gustavia Dixon; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Doug Williams, Early Richardson, LC Riley, and Calvin Green.
Brother Al-Lateef was preceded by his father, Mr. Robert Jackson, and mother, Mrs. Mary Jackson.
