Bruce Dennis Mosley passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at the Loch Raven VA Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. He was born on January 16, 1947 in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of the late Reverend Roosevelt and Mrs. Jane Mosley.
Bruce was an accomplished student of the Saginaw Public School District where he was a standout player in the sports of football, basketball, and track and field. He was also a devoted member of Saginaw High School’s chorus group, “The A Cappella”. He will be remembered by his classmates for his fun, happy, loving, and positive ways. Upon graduating from high school, Bruce enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he continued his education at Ferris State University, where he became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated in 1969. Once he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Social Work Degree, he proudly labored as a Social Worker for Kalamazoo County, in Kalamazoo, Michigan and for the Lansing School District, in Lansing, Michigan until his retirement in 2004.
Bruce’s life became complete when he met and fell in love with Ms. Valoria Irene Jefferies, marrying her on December 30, 1996. Together they enjoyed traveling in support of Michigan State University’s football team, spending time with their children, grandchildren, and friends.
A great void has been left by his passing, but he leaves a great legacy and memories that will be cherished by his children, daughter, Tiffani (Rodger) Battle; 3 sons, Trent (Kilah) Mosley, Marcus (LaTonya) Turner, and Marlon (Marshall) Turner; 8 very special grandchildren of whom he was a proud grandfather, Amari, Khalil, Quinn, Troy, Malachi, Malkolm, Mosley and Marlon (MJ); 4 sisters, Kathleen (Edgar) Rainey, Leslie Breggins ,Joyce Brown and Carol Purches; 5 brothers, Tellis (Joann) Everett, Terry (Linda) Everett, Gregory (Kay) Everrett, Carl Mosley and Rev. Roosevelt Mosley, Jr. all of whom he loved dearly; maternal aunt, Ms. Ellen Williams;; many nieces, nephews, cousins, including special cousin, Ms. Gwendolyn Myles with whom he shared lots of memories, laughs, and joy, other relatives and friends especially his Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Brothers, who love him and will miss him dearly.
He was proceeded in death by his beloved wife, Mrs. Valoria Irene Mosley; parents; two sisters, Ms. Elizabeth Richmond and Ms. Nina Clay.
