Callie Mae Fentress

September 21, 1927 — August 2, 2024

Saginaw

Our beloved mother, Callie Mae Fentress, was promoted to Heaven on August 2, 2024. She transitioned peacefully at her home in Saginaw, Michigan. Callie was born on September 21, 1927, in Jackson, Tennessee to Lue Sinda Williamson and Clarence Williamson. She completed school in Madison County in Denmark, Tennessee. At an early age, Callie was blessed with her God-given wisdom.

She met the handsome Prince Wilson Fentress in Jackson, Tennessee, and they married. They moved to Michigan for better job opportunities. While raising a family, Callie stayed home as a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, and cooking, and was an avid gardener. In addition, attending church and studying the Bible quickly became her passion, after she was born again in Christ Jesus. Prince Wilson and Callie traveled extensively to crusades, church conventions, and family functions across the eastern and southern regions of the country. She was a Proverbs 31 woman of God: kind, gentle, soft-spoken, strong-minded, and sacrificial.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters and one son: Elaine Gail Fentress of Saginaw, MI. Elaine was Mom’s caregiver, and they had a special bond, Cynthia Lynn Fentress of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Frederick Fentress of Saginaw, MI, Dorothy Fentress-Gay (Bernell) Gay, of Macomb, MI; grandchildren, Nina Parker of Texas and Mark Wilson Gay of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Vera (Cliff) Merriweather of Tennessee; brothers-in-law, Thomas J. (Brooxie) Fentress of Detroit, Michigan, Joe Fentress, Detroit, Michigan, and Murry Fentress, Saginaw, Michigan; friend, Mother Fronnie Garner; and cousin, Lizzie King,

Mrs. Fentress was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Prince Wilson Fentress; sister, Willie Ruth Snowden of South Bend, Indiana; brothers, Thomas Williamson of Indianapolis, Indiana, Silas Williamson, of Saginaw, Michigan, and Clarence Williamson of Jackson, Tennessee; many other relatives and friends including nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Barbara Hibbler, Lee Finch, Waco Moore, Bishop Pierson, Bishop Reid, Bishop Goodson, Mr. and Mrs. Robbie, Ivan E. Phillips, and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel.
