Callie Trice

February 14, 1933 — October 12, 2014

On Sunday, October 12, 2014 Callie Trice gained her Heavenly wings and entered the kingdom of Heaven. She was born February 14, 1933 in Laurel, Mississippi to Melvin and Ruby Clayborne.
Callie loved the Lord was a faithful member of Life in Christ Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Dennis Cotton where she was a member of the Mother Board. She was an activist working with the Welfare Rights Committee. Callie also was an active member of the Saginaw County Community Action Committee Seniors Board. She worked as a receptionist with the Senior Program at the Neighborhood House. She loved fishing, cooking, playing card and dominos. She enjoyed bragging whenever she was the winner. Callie enjoyed gardening and taking care of her beautiful flowers. She was truly a sweetheart whose presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory ten children, Geraldine and Kevin Trice of Arizona, Johnnie, Henry, Carolyn, Maria, Anthony, David and Vanessa Trice and Nina Thomas all of Saginaw, Michigan; thirty grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one adopted daughter, Operlean of Virginia; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Aunt Jennie Mae Shivers, Sister Mattie, Ms. Bernice Dix, Ms. Gayle and her two special sons, Willie and Mark.
Callie was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Trice, parents, Melvin and Ruby Clay, three brothers, Jesse, John and Henry Claybourne and one grandson, Delvon Trice.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Quincy Allen-Murphy, Nina Quinn, Muriel of Homecare Services, Ashley, Tina and Angelina of St. Marys of Michigan Medical Center 6th floor ICU unit.
