Calvin Chism

Calvin Chism triumphantly entered heaven to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the age of 60 years. He was born to Vashtie and Earmie Chism on June 22, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Calvin moved to Saginaw, MI in 1956 and graduated from Arthur Hill Technical High School in 1967. Calvin was a member of VFW #2622 and served two tours in the Vietnam War. On March 1, 1984 he was joined in matrimony to JoeAnn Morgan. Calvin gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of Faith Harvest Church under the guidance of Bishop Ronald E. Chipp. He enjoyed roller skating, attending car shows and working on his 1968 Pontiac.
Calvin leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, JoeAnn Chism; four children, Paul Morgan-Chism, Tammy (Njaja) Sims and LaTisha Webb all of Atlanta, GA and Phillip Abinya of Saginaw, MI; one brother, Vashtie (LaTanya) Chism Jr.; five sisters, Joyce (Frank) Weaver and Deborah Alloway both of Detroit, MI, Evon and Irma Chism both of Saginaw, MI and Pamelar Chism of Chicago, IL; twenty-one grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Sylvia Vann, Barbara (Roscoe) Pipkins and Pamela Canada; three brothers-in-law, Everitt (Renee) Pipkins, Paul (Debbie) Miller and Eddie Canada; many other relatives and friends including special friends, James Davis, Bobby Glover, Steve Barker and Larry Dottery.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Vashtie and Earmie Chism; son, Everitt Morgan; mother-in-law, Fannie Canada and two brothers-in-law, Alfonzie Smith and Joseph Morgan. The family would like to express special thanks to the Faith Harvest Church family and Covenant Healthcare 4th Floor ICU.
