Mr. Calvin Mario Ginn passed away Thursday, March 16, 2023, in Grandview, Missouri. born on April 15, 1952, in Itta Bena, Mississippi, to Charlie Ginn Sr. and Lucille Ginn.
After graduating high school, Calvin completed two years of college at Mississippi Valley State University. In 1972, Calvin moved to Saginaw, Michigan, and worked for the Saginaw Board of Education part-time as a youth counselor while working full-time at Delphi. He retired after 30 years from Delphi in 2002. Calvin was a family man; he loved his children unconditionally. He was the true definition of a good man. Calvin enjoyed spending time with his dog, Watson, his grandchildren, and his brother, Charlie, to whom he had a lifetime devotion. Whenever you saw Charlie, Calvin wasn’t too far behind. Calvin enjoyed watching wrestling and was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan.
He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Calvess Kemp-Burnett, Saginaw Michigan, Markisha (Kiwani) Taylor, Lasondra Ginn, both of Grandview, Missouri; two sons, Lamar (Cynthia) Davis, Saginaw Michigan, Demetrius Davis, Grandview, Missouri; grandchildren, Marcus Jackson Jr., Damon Stephens Jr., Damien Stephens, Christopher Walker Jr., Clifford Harris Jr., Lamar Davis Jr. (Jasmine Hines), Demetrius Ramirez, Bran Davis, R’Reanna Davis, Devonte Davis, Kiwani Taylor Jr., and DeQuaiveon Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Lamar III, and Leo Jay Davis, Samiyah Townsend, Sammie Lee Townsend, III, and Kaiden Ramirez; brother, Charlie Ginn Jr.; sister-in-law, Mary (Charles) Sledge; special niece, Verna Dean Ross; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Ginn Sr. and Lucille Ginn; wife, Betty Ginn; brother, Colton Ginn; sisters, Captoria, Saint Clara, and Darlene Ginn; niece, Denise Declare Ginn.
