Calvin Ruth (A.K.A.) Huck-Big Daddy-The Man-Paw-Paw passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at Solari Hospice in Las Vegas, Nevada. Age 59 years. He was born September 22, 1952 in Altheimer, Arkansas to Lillie and Jessie Harris Jr. He was the second oldest of six children.
He accepted Christ and united at the formal Emmanuel St. Mark's United Church of Christ in 1981. Calvin received his diploma from Adult Education in Saginaw, Michigan; He received his Associate in Arts from Delta College and later attended Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he received his Bachelor degree. He retired from General Motors after 35 years of service in 2004. Calvin was united in holy matrimony to Cynthia Clay on June 28, 1980.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 31 years, Cynthia Ruth; three daughters, Azure D. Ruth, ShaDana Fairris, Tiffany Jones, one son, Karim Jones; 8 grandchildren, Joii, Precious, Demont, Tameia, Terrah, Miracle, Destiny and Kamari; mother, Lillie Harris; two sisters, Louwonia Harris (Bobby Buell) and Ruth K. (Gregory) Everett; two brothers, Carl (Rosemary) Ruth, Dennis Harris; four
god-children, ShaRhonda, KeAndria, Tyrone, Dmari; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alma C. Wyatt, Delsie Yarbrough, Waddie (Leroy) Cook, Renee Salter, Floyd Broadnax, Fred Clay Jr., Rev. Vernor (Sherry) Clay, Rev. Daniel (Mary) Clay, Aaron (Barbara) Mitchell; many aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends, including special cousins, Joyce Johnson, Joyce Lawson, special friends, Derrick Cartledge and a special brother-in-law, James Clay; his special buddies, Arthur, Bay Bay, Drain, John, Kent, Larry, Mike, Raymond, Swilley, Vernard, Woods, George, Greg, Virgil, and TC.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Harris Jr., grandparents, Ethel and Jessie Harris Sr., Sam and Sarilla Ruth, sister, Ethel Jones , brother, Larry Harris, grandsons, Calvin Wade, Marcus Bell, father and mother-in-law, Mable and Fred Clay Sr., brother-in-law, Gregory Clay.
