Mrs. Carol Ann Rodgers, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at St. John’s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Age 75 years young. She was born July 22, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Bobbie Sue Hardy and Freddie Emmitt Brooks.
In her younger years, our dear mother loved to dance, roller skate, sing karaoke and listen to her music. She was loving, caring, and kind. She loved being around people. She never met a stranger and greeted you with a beautiful smile.
Mother loved to read her Bible, study her Watchtower lesson and preach to everyone she met about Jehovah. She was baptized as a Jehovah’s Witness on May 13, 2002. Carol loved being a servant for Jehovah. She also loved spending time with her children, her mother, and her late friend, Sis. Catherine Cooper. Our mother’s favorite scripture; Titus 1:2, “Based on a hope of everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago.” She would comment often at her Christian meetings saying, “God cannot lie or die!” Even during her sickest moment, she preached, taught, and praised Jehovah. She is truly missed by us all.
Our mother is survived by her mother, Bobbie Hardy of Saginaw, Michigan; seven children; Richard Rodgers, Jr., and Jacqueline Rodgers, both of Saginaw, Michigan, Veronica Rodgers, June Rodgers, and Laurynn Rodgers-Brooks all of Holland, Michigan, Cheryl Rodgers of Detroit, Michigan, and Edwin Rodgers; siblings; Subrina Hardy and Jason Moore, Stephen Hardy (Linda) of Arlington Texas; her aunt, June Jennings of Saginaw, Michigan and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including; Patricia Blackmond-Davis, Renee Johnson, Jannie Shaw, FeFe Darnell-Green, Henry Wells, Rita Brown, and very special nephew, Dion Hardy, who lovingly assisted in the care of our mother, and her dear close special friend Sharon Cooper.
Our mother was preceded in death by her father, Freddie E. Brooks, stepfather, Olin Hardy, Sr., grandparents, Sam and Laura Jennings, her brothers, Edwin Ellis Hardy, Jr., Charles Chrittenden, Allin Hardy and Olin Hardy, Jr., sisters, Mary Moffett, and Cora Walker; aunt, Maddie Jennings, cousin, Benita Jennings, and grandsons, Donterrion Rodgers and Ja-Paris Rodgers.
The family would like to express special thanks to all for the love, support, prayers, and words of kindness. A special thanks to the caregivers who lovingly took good care of our dear mother and to Paradise and the staff for their professionalism and loving care.
