Ms. Carolyn Carter (Woodson) was born in Saginaw, Michigan on December 7, 1960, the daughter of Jessie C. Dixon and James Woodson. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School class of 1979. She received her Medical Assistant certificate at Ross Medical School.
Today we celebrate the life of a God-fearing, phenomenal woman who was a mother, sister, aunt and a friend to so many. One couldn't pray for a more caring and understanding mother. She would show up when and where you least expected and stayed there until she was no longer needed. Carolyn was a giver. Prior to her death, she worked for Dr. Vincent as a medical assistant for several years and continued in that field caring and serving others. She would give her last before she let her children or her family go without, she made a way out of no way. Carolyn encouraged so many, she always brought out the best in people, she made people laugh and feel good about themselves. Carolyn was outgoing, she loved to dance and be around people she loved, it was believed to be her secret to youth. On Wednesday, March 24, 2010 she departed this earthly life to seek a seat in glory. So how do you say "Goodbye" to someone with such an extraordinary spirit, you don't, you say "I'll see you later".
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Tamarah (Taylor) Baker, son, Joseph A. Carter Jr., her father James Woodson and step-father Sammie Dixon, one brother, Jerome Woodson, sister Jolie Armstrong, one grandson, Taylor T. Baker Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her oldest son, DeAndre Hilliard, her mother Jessie C. Dixon, aunt Elizabeth Williams, uncle Junior Allen, grandmother Esther Allen and a special love in her life Joseph A. Carter Sr.
