Carolyn Choyce

Ms. Carolyn Choyce was born October 1, 1954 in Youngstown, Ohio to Joseph and Frances Yarn. She passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018. Age 64 years.

Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She attended Buena Vista High School and graduated, “Class of 1972.” She joined Coleman Temple Church under the leadership of the late Hurley Coleman, Sr. and continued her membership until her passing. She worked in retail and customer service and was employed at AJ Wright and Kmart.

Carolyn loved to cook and shop. She could cook anything and everything and it was all good. She loved being a mother but her grandkids brought her such joy. She loved spending time with them and cooking for them. Her secret ingredient to cooking was love. She showed love in everything she did. She believed love was an action word and she lived that example for her family.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Yarn; sister, Vanessa Y. Morris; grandparents, Pete and Carlinda Yarn; uncles, Hilton, Raymond, Pete Yarn, Jr.; aunt, Frances Jones; sister-in-law, Ruby A. Choyce.

She leaves to cherish her memory mother, Frances Chatman-Yarn; two daughters, LaKesha J. (Eric), Stacy V. Choyce; son, Kenneth L. (JoAnne) Choyce; grandchildren, Kentavion L. Choyce, Kristina R., Eric D., Jr., Marcus H. Pearson; brothers, Joey and Jerome Yarn; nephews, Joey, Fredrick, Andre, Marquay Jenkins, Michael J. Yarn; aunt, Annie Grace (Monroe) Lardell; uncle, James Chatman; sister-in-law, Dora Cooper; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Angie), Byron, Marvin Choyce; many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express special thanks to Ivan E. Phillips and the Staff of Paradise Funeral Chapel and everyone that assisted the family in our time of need.
