Carolyn Nickerson

Mrs. Carolyn Nickerson passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at Covenant HealthCare Harrison in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 88 years. She was born September 18, 1934, in Brundidge, Alabama, to Frank Newson and Emma Haynes.

Carolyn married Milton Nickerson in 1953 and they relocated to Saginaw, Michigan. To their union, they were blessed with the birth of three daughters. Carolyn attended St. Luke C.M.E. Church until her health failed. She will be greatly missed.

Carolyn was a devoted wife and loving mother who dearly loved her family. She worked at Sun Valley Health Care where she enjoyed caring for patients. Carolyn loved to cook and bake her favorite butternut cake that everyone enjoyed eating. After retirement, Carolyn helped to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Gwen King, Linda (Pastor K.T.) Draine, and Cynthia Nickerson; three grandchildren, Shannon (Bill) Nash, Candice (Robert) McCauley, and Nicholas R. Coleman; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Walter T. (Linda) Nickerson; special cousins, Marie Matthews, Elnora (Joseph) Washington; special nephew, Clarence Nickerson; close friends, Clarine Coleman, Margo Tyus, Stacey Leverson, Andre, and Adrian Tyus.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton Nickerson; son-in-law, Billy W. King; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her faith and her commitment to family and friends will always remain a legacy.
