Mrs. Carrie Bell Booker passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Center. Age 81 years. She was born May 8, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee to Littie Bell and Horace Mitchell.
Carrie was a resident of Saginaw, Michigan. She retired after many years of service from Saginaw Public Schools as a Teacher’s Aide at Heavenrich Elementary School. Carrie loved game shows and being outdoors but most of all, she loved her family. Carrie will be greatly missed by family and friends who loved her dearly.
She leaves to cherish loving memories her husband, Verl Booker; three daughters, Charlotte Davis, Saginaw, Michigan, Rachael (D.T.) Johnson, Defiance, Ohio, and Zina Davis, Saginaw, Michigan; grandchildren, LeRon D. Davis and Travon L. Culpepper, Saginaw, Michigan, LaRosa L. Brown, Grand Rapids, Michigan; Dan T. Davis-Johnson, Angela D. Estes, Michelle N. Johnson, Zina M. Johnson, all of Ohio; Tori Hassan Brown, Israel Capone Brown, Kemeela Davis, LeRon Davis, Jr., Alexandria Lawrence, Shannon Davis Garrett and Marcia Davis; one brother, Willie Archie Mitchell; many nieces and nephews; mother and father-in-law, Louis and Pearl Booker; four sisters-in-law, Debra, Lucinda, and Muriel; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends including special friends, Lorraine Payne, Martha McBrayer, Cricket Wilson, Curtis Anderson, Carolyn Haynes, and Joann Everett; godchildren, Freda Wilson, Joyce Archibald, Bridgette Holliman, Ryan Haynes, Defreda Haynes, Michelle Walker, and Anthony Rogers.
Mrs. Booker was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Littie Bell Mitchell; daughter, Cathy Davis; granddaughter, Erica L. Davis; sisters, Odie Pearl and Ruby Jean Young; brothers Edkler Lee, Tommie Lee, Louis, Earl, and Roy Mitchell
