Carrie Jean Harris

December 19, 1959 — July 25, 2021

Ms. Carrie Jean Harris was born December 19, 1959 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Ed Harris and Julia Humphrey. She transitioned into eternal rest on July 25, 2021 at the age of 61 years.

Carrie was a lifelong resident of Saginaw, Michigan and attended Buena Vista schools. She was a friend to all and everyone loved her. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out. She enjoyed music, fishing, cooking, singing, dancing, going to the casino and being with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she called “Granny’s Babies.”

Carrie was a strong woman with strong religious values. Once she put her mind and heart into something, it was hers. She always made the impossible happen with very little. She had six children that she loved and raised to be close to one another. She wasn’t perfect but she never lost herself when it came to being a mother. She took pride in always looking her best, and when she was dressed, you couldn’t tell her nothing.

Carrie was the life of every party. She was everybody’s favorite aunt, even though she held strict values. She loved her mother and had a very special connection with her. She would sit with her mother everyday and talk with her mom about any and everything. Carrie had unconditional love for her entire family. She loved and supported everyone, and that included her sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was proud of herself and of her family and she will truly be missed.

Carrie was preceded in death by her father, Ed Harris; Alexander J. Pruitt, Jerry Harris, Willie “Doug” Franklin and Laura Clark.

She leaves beautiful memories with six children, Deondra Lashon Harris (Isaac Collins), Richie Ladell Harris, Debvanisha Deshon Harris, Crystal Denise Harris (Jayson Tillman), Eddie Harris, Julishea Dayson Macon (Aubrey Pruitt), all of Saginaw, Michigan; mother, Julia Humphrey; grandchildren, Davariyoun Ray, Danisha, Edward Williams, Isaac II, Isabella, Isaiah and Isair Collins, Jayden, Laila, Eddie Harris, Jr., Kamarian, Kenya Tolliver, Harmony Haynes, Jayda Harris, Alexandria Macon, Alexander, Aubrielle Pruitt, Cierra Harris, Madison Brown, Kijuan Ross, Legacy Monsibais; great-grandchildren, De’Anthony, Dakota, Davariyoun II, Daniella, Aubrey, Jordan, John III, Dylann, DeAundre, Jacob, Jonas, Jew’Ell; sisters, Patricia, Terrilyn and Nadine Harris; brothers, Charles, Jerry, Randy and Matthew Harris; nieces, Tarra Price, Mellendy Harris, Markeisha Robinson, Gwendolyn Harris, Hattie Norwood, Mellendy Harris, Jakayla Harris, Sharonda Harris, Makea Cruse, Randi Harris, Lucretia Wesley; nephews, John A.
