Ms. Carrie Bell Jones (Welch) passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper at the age of 82 years. She was born March 1, 1932 in Ozark, Alabama, the daughter of Robert and Camila Jones.
Ms. Welch also known as Momma Carrie or Ms. Carrie attended Delta College to become a licensed Daycare Provider. She was a member of Church of God in Christ Divine Science, Bibleway Church of God in Christ and Christ Fellowship Baptist Church. She loved to cook and was well known for her cakes.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Bernice Crenshaw, Targie (Charles) Works, Eulishes and Andrew Welch; daughter-in-law, Lilly (Pearl) Jones; seven grandchildren, Eric (Jennifer) Jones, Felicia and Omar Jones, Fatima Williams, Chan-Na (Scott) Hinojosa, Elashia Works and Camile Culpepper; eleven great-grandchildren, Perry Jones, Erykha and Eriyana Jones, Marcus and MarQuevous Jackson, TaNiya Whitson, IvyAna Hinojosa, Julius and SaMareia Brown, Jacob and Khenadi Jones; one great-great-grandchild, Aubrey Jones; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Welch, Victoria Calhoun of Ozark, Alabama and Mary Lee Jones of Washington, DC; one brother-in-law, Isiah Welch; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ms. Welch was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eulishes Welch; one son, Larry Shipman Jones; five siblings, Robert Jr., Jessie James, Guy Jones, Ruth Lee and Mary Lee Craft; one grandson, Brandon Jones; one great-grandson, Andre Jones and one son-in-law, Ronald Floyd Crenshaw.
