Catherine Mary (Beyer) Meirndorf (Of Williamston)

August 3, 1941 — April 18, 2021

Mrs. Catherine M. (Beyer) Meirndorf passed away peacefully Sunday, April 18, 2021, at the age of 79. She is the daughter of Russell R. and Caroline M. Beyer and was born on August 3, 1941, in Saginaw, Michigan.

Catherine grew up in Lansing, Michigan, and graduated from the Church of Resurrection School in 1960. She retired from Michigan State University and moved to Mecosta, Michigan in 1997. She raised her family in Lansing and spent weekends and vacations near Horsehead Lake, in Mecosta. Catherine enjoyed, cooking, gardening, socializing, and traveling with Raymond and Barbara Bachman visiting casinos around the country including Alaska and Hawaii. She was an avid fan of Ferris State Bulldogs soccer, hockey, and basketball. She loved spending time with her large extended family and friends. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all.

Catherine leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 61 years, Darwin J. Meirndorf, Sr. of Williamston, Michigan; four children; Jamie (Chris) Pratt of Dewitt, Michigan, Arnette (Larry) Benda of Ludowici, Georgia, Darwin J. (Angela) Meirndorf, Jr. of Williamston, Michigan, and Marcie Meirndorf of Atlanta, Georgia; 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; and sister, Zita Halpin (90) Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, Carolyn Bark and Martha Casaday; and brother, Norman Beyer.
