Cecil Randolph Johnson died from the Coronavirus on March 4, 2021, at his home in Katy, Texas at the age of 55 years. Cecil was born on April 18, 1965, to Fredericka Arlene Jackson-Johnson and Freddie Johnson, Jr. in Lansing, Michigan where he grew up.
Cecil was a great kid and always respectful. He was highly intelligent, dedicated to his studies, and an honor roll student throughout his education. Cecil attended several Michigan schools: Main Street Elementary School, Woodcreek Elementary School, Dwight Rich Junior High School, East Lansing High School, Lansing Catholic Central High School, and was an active member of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, where he served as an altar boy. Cecil moved from Michigan to Houston, Texas to live with his father. He graduated in 1983, from Sharpstown High School in Houston. There he participated and excelled in football, wrestling, and track. Cecil loved running and continued running throughout his adulthood. He became a marathon runner and a passionate lifelong and disciplined jogger. Cecil was recently celebrated by family and friends after posting on social media his ‘first jog’ since being released from the hospital. Cecil also attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas in preparation for employment opportunities.
Cecil’s work history in addition to being a co-owner of identity fraud agency, a Regional Marketing Director for Hampton Marketing Consulting Company; and an Account Executive in Sales at High Touch Technology, the Director of Sales & Marketing at Richline Technical Services, and a member of the marketing team at Waste Management, Inc. He was once a Wine Tender at the premier Tannins Wine Bar & Tapas Restaurant, and for a short while, he drove for the Uber Company.
Cecil lived in Corpus Christi, Texas for many years then moved back to the Houston and Katy, Texas areas in 2018. Cecil loved his family and valued everyone in his life, from his lifelong friends in Lansing, Michigan to all his friends and co-workers in Texas.
Cecil is survived by his loving mother, The Rev. Dr. Fredericka A. Jackson of Farmington Hills, Michigan; three sisters, Leilani Johnson and Denise Reeves both of Lansing, Michigan and Lynette Johnson of Southfield, Michigan. stepmother, Carol Johnson; stepsiblings, Aaron and Monica Johnson all of Willingboro, New Jersey; nephews, Kenny Donald, DeShaun Donald, Gray Taylor Takari Johnson, Micah Johnson, Isaac Norwood, and Geramee Norwood; many aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members and many, many loving and dedicated friends.
He was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Glen Johnson, and his father, Freddie Johnson.
