Charles (Al) Edward Blakes Jr.made his transition into the Bosom of Abraham on August 26, 2017, following a recent battle with illness. Charles was born on November 7, 1960 in Saginaw, Michigan to Mary Ann Nutt and Charles E. Blakes.

Charles was raised in Saginaw where he graduated from Buena Vista High School in 1978.
He had a “SMILE” so bright and infectious that he lifted the spirits of everyone he met. He met no strangers and genuinely loved and cared for anyone he could; always ready, willing and able to lend a helping hand. The man with the Early Morning Encouraging words on FB that many followed and look forward to each day. Many of you know this Charles (Al), but only few of you know the Charles that had come into the truth of the Most High God, the Charles that lived his life according to the laws, statutes, and commandments of the Bible as given to the children of Israel by the Most High God. Charles and his loving wife Sabrina Dawkins Blakes together were baptized in the Truth on June 11, 2017 in living water. Charles was a loving, devoted husband. They brought Joy, Laughter and Stability into each other’s lives. He will be deeply missed.

Campbell, Kentucky, and Briana Williams, Saginaw, Michigan; his siblings: Rosette Blakes (Angleton, Texas); Michael Blakes, Detroit, Michigan; Rosalind Blakes, Saginaw, Michigan; Dennis (Sherice) Nutt Urbana, Ohio; Angela Jenkins, Saginaw, Michigan; Keith (Alicia) Jenkins, Atlanta, Georgia; Maurice Blakes, Saginaw, Michigan; Brenda Walker, Tampa, Florida; Bradford Nutt, Saginaw, Michigan, and Brian Nutt, Saginaw, Michigan; Grandchildren: Elizabeth, Veonta Jr., Venaisa, Anthoney, Suraiya, Khennadei, Asaunni, Gabrianna, Aaliynah and Gianna; Nieces and Nephews: Keisha, Tanisha, Vanessa, Miesha, Tempest, Airron, DeJuan, Ivy, Joel, Zachary, Arion, Ar'Marion; his special mother-in-law, Johnnie Dawkins; many more aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends, including special family and friends; Kenneth and Rhonda Green, Shonte and Kenya Peoples, Rodney Howard, Shirley Faye Davidson, Wanda Stallworth, Chris Tatum, Arthur Weathers, Yvonne Weathers, Michael Lynch, Janet Nash, and Gloria Wendling.

Charles was predeceased by his mother, Mary Ann Nutt; father, Charles E. Blakes, grandparents, George and Daisy Jenkins, and special friend, Larry Williamson.
