Charles Dewayne Mattox, Jr. (Lansing & Lawrenceville, Ga)

Mr. Charles D. Mattox, Jr., “Chop” passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023, in Lansing, Michigan. Age 29 years. He was born November 4, 1993, in Lansing, Michigan to his parents, Angela Hodges and Charles Mattox Sr.

Charles was a resident of Lawrenceville, Georgia. He accepted the Lord at a young age. He lived in Lansing and attended New Mount Calvary Baptist Church in his early years of his life. Chop was gainfully employed as a maintenance man in Georgia. He loved his family. Charles loved to take care of everyone with the biggest smile. He made sure to check on his family. He adored his nieces and nephews and nurtured and guided them. Chop had a kind loving and giving heart. His spirit would light up the room when he entered. He loves to eat and listen to music. Charles was our baby who was loved by all.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Angela and father, Chuck; three sisters Tyresha, Tanya, and Shante; two brothers, Xavier and Giovanni; grandparents, Sandy Hodges and Larry Hodges; five nieces, Lorenzianna, Lai'onna, Gi'yanna, Ka'laeeha, and Ka'leese; three nephews, Demarion, Keith'n and Von'yae; three aunts, Lashanda Brown, Sandra Mattox and Tonya Mattox; many other aunts including special aunts, Marie R, Debra Q, and Tiffany G.; uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends, including special friend, Daja.

He was preceded in death by grandparents: Charles and Pearl Mattox, his aunt: Linda Mattox, his uncle: Robert Mattox, and special friends, Wesley Glasscoe, Davion Gaines, and Terrezza Griffin.
