Charles (Lansing) Clement

Charles Edward Chuck Clement, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at the age of 72. He was born November 9, 1942 in Arkansas to the union of Herman L. and Beatrice Clement. He was a lifelong resident of the Lansing area and graduated from J.W. Sexton High School. Charles served in the United States Army and the Navy. Charles married Phyllis Drake and they had two sons, Yahmon Clement and Dequandre Clement. They were married for nine years. Charles retired from the United States Department of Agriculture Research Education and Economic Laboratory as a Poultry Caretaker for 42 years.
Charles was a lifelong faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and enjoyed ministering to those in need. Charles visited the nursing homes to pray for the sick and to share his love for the Lord. He attended Abundant Grace Faith Church on occasions. He was a man of integrity, If he said it, it was. He was always concerned about the lives of others and those less fortunate. He demonstrated this by his charitable donations to several charities. He also enjoyed exercising by running the stairs at Moores River Parks swimming pool and later becoming a bicyclist.
He leaves to Celebrate his memory his sons, Yahmon of Lansing, Michigan and Dequandre of Tempe, Arizona; grandchildren, Shamon (Mario) Johnson and Dartanian Cook; mother, Beatrice Clement; sisters, Barbara (Thomas) Martin of Nashville, Tennessee; Phyllis Jones of Atlanta, Georgia; Laura (Marco) Clement-Garay of Lansing, Michigan; brothers, Keith Clement and Jeff Clement of Lansing, Michigan and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Herman.
