Charles Leroy Ashford, Sr.

Charles Leroy Ashford, Sr., age 65, of Saginaw, Michigan passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at his residence, with his family by his side. He was born May 15, 1950 to Johnnie B. and Essie Mae Ashford in Vancleave, Mississippi.
Charles loved fishing, repairing cars, collecting photos, telling jokes, and spending time with his family. He will truly be missed by family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory, seven children; Darnell Randle, Charlene (Jimmie) Wright, Patricia A. Jackson, Charles L. Ashford, Jr., Patricia Lilly, Christopher Martin and Derrick Martin; twenty-one grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; father, Johnnie B. Ashford; sisters, Eunice, Mary, Barbara, Bunnie, Judy, Earlene, Frances, Katrina and Jennifer; brothers, Willie, Daniel, Terry, Calvin, Aaron and Adrian; a very special friend and caregiver, Rachel Wing; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including former wife, Jerlean Williams, D.P. and Leo.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Mae Ashford, brothers, John L., Richard, Rocky, and sister, Shelly. The family wishes to express our deepest appreciation to the staff at Covenant Healthcare and to family and friends for the many expressions of sympathy and kindness extended to us during our time of bereavement.
