Charles Williams

December 21, 1950 — July 9, 2013

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, Charles Roderick Williams "Rocky" went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. Age 62 years. He was born December 21, 1950 in Pensacola, Florida to Nina Ree Mixon.
Charles was educated in the Pensacola, Florida school system. He joined the United States Marine Corp and received an honorable discharge. Charles completed training in auto painting and body work. He worked for the Saginaw Public School System as a custodian and Family Dollar stores as a stocker. Charles was an experienced roofer who loved lottery scratch offs and going to the casino. His presence will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rosie Marie Williams; three sons, Charles Prim, Roderick Demain Williams and DeWayne Williams, all of Pensacola, Florida; grandchildren, Dequane, Desani and Kamori, Carmelo Williams, Jordan Baker, all of Pensacola, Florida, Jerad Prim, Foley, Alabama; one sister, Shirley (Nesby) Garrett; two nieces, Nina (Carl) Franklin, Shante Foster; two great-nephews, DonQuavis Gipson and Carmello Franklin; one aunt, France Hudgin, San Francisco, California; three uncles, Ralph (Canel) Williams Sr. and James Mack Brown, both of Pensacola, Florida, Charles Gadd, Jacksonville, Florida; mother-in-laws, Sarah Dennis, Foley, Alabama, Ruthie Wright, Pensacola, Florida; one sister-in-law, Gail Gray, Foley, Alabama; four brothers-in-law, John and Willie Dennis both of Foley, Alabama, Kenneth Wright, Washington DC, Eric Wright, Dallas, Texas; many other relatives and friends including special friends, Maurice Ferrell, Alfred Amerson Slim, Jean Clark, Nathaniel and Arleen Cole.
Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Nina Ree Mixon, grandmothers, Jessie Mae Williams and Bertha Frith, one niece, Michelle Savage.
The family wishes to express special thanks to the second floor staff of the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center and Dr. Anna Bartnik.
