Charlotte “Renee” Cage of Saginaw, Michigan went to be with the Lord October 7, 2018 at the age of sixty-nine years. She was born August 9, 1949 to Juliette Ernestine Jackson and Horace Felton Woods. She was lovingly raised by her mother and step-father, Leon Jackson, Sr. She was a member of Kingdom Life Ministries and everyone who knew her could testify that she LOVED the Lord and her church family. She was affectionately known as Mother Cage by everyone in the ministry and Renee by friends and family.
Charlotte worked for General Motors for 32 years before retiring. She was a light to all who knew her and had a smile that would melt your heart. She was full of generosity and would give you the shirt off her back if necessary. Over the years she opened her home to many and found immense joy helping those in need. She had a spirit of LOVE! And the example she set will never be forgotten. She raised two incredible daughters, but her love did not stop there because there are many that call her mom.
Her passion was missions, which was demonstrated by her work and travel to Africa. And although not well known by all, she enjoyed playing video and computer games. Renee was all about FAMILY! Keeping family together through holiday gatherings and her famous Mexican Fiesta dinners. If there was a reason to gather we came together, and she loved it because she loved her family. Charlotte will truly be missed.
On Sunday, October 7, 2018 Charlotte gained her wings and joined her parents, Leon Sr. and Juliette Ernestine Jackson, Horace Felton Woods; brother, Clifton Bradley; aunt, Eloise Gail Hardy-Phillips; uncles, Olin Hardy, Sr. and James Otis Price.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Tonia Camille Jackson, Schaundala Sheri Cage; all who called her mom, Kimberly (Tony) Cotton, Monique Cage-Anderson, Dion Cage, Deneice (Alan) Lane, Charine (Corey) Brownlee, Kenny Taylor, Samuel (Junebug) Taylor, Eric (Pamela) Lucas; several precious grandchildren including Brandon Jackson and Jovon Mitchell; brothers, Larry Hardy, Felton Woods, Leon (Brenda) Jackson, Daniel McCray, Horace Woods, James Woods; sister, Gloria Jackson; special sisters, Debra Meekins, Bobbie Ray, Carol O’Deleye, Rosa Nickleberry, Doris Jones, Pamela King, Elizabeth (Jean) Jackson, Debbie Woods, Linda Mays, Connie Woods, Elise Woods; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, a host of loving family and friends including Leanna Joseph, Jarvella Motley, and Pat Whitson, with honorable mention to Elva Joy Croel, Paula Terrell, Pam Carey, Phyllis Phillips, Subrina Hardy and Vickey Gladney who cared for her until the end.
