Cherie always said that she lived a life under construction, but God saw her as his masterpiece and called her home.
Ms. Cherie Lynn Bare passed away on March 13, 2021, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Age 63 years.
She was born in LaGrange, Indiana, to parents, James, and Wanda Bare.
Cherie grew up and attended school in Three Rivers, Michigan. Later in life, she moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan, where she gave birth to her only daughter, Carmen. Once moving and settling in Lansing, Michigan, Cherie found her happiness and enjoyment in the Lord, when she became a member of Trinity Church. Cherie fell in love with the ministry and found a home with the congregation. This led to her volunteering, giving rides, anything that she could do to help fellow members of Trinity, Cherie found a community that she loved being a part of. It seemed God had answered her prayers.
A few years later, her first and only granddaughter was born. Ny’Laiya Thorpe is her pride and joy, and Cherie always felt as though Ny’Laiya was her greatest achievement. Cherie and Ny’Laiya enjoyed planting flowers and thrift shopping together. These beautiful memories and the 11 years Cherie got to experience with Ny’Laiya are treasured by the entire family, and Ny’Laiya will miss her grandmother greatly. There are two others that will miss Cherie more than even her family and friends, her precious puppies, Queenie and Boss. These babies mourn her loss every moment of every day.
