Chester Arthur Bishop

Chester Arthur Bishop was born January 20, 1940 in Edward, Mississippi to George and Ardelia Bishop. He entered into eternal rest on Thursday, September 26, 2019.

Chester resided in Saginaw for most of his life. He was employed with the General Motors Corporation and retired after twenty-eight years of dedicated service.

Chester enjoyed hosting barbecues and fish frys in his backyard. He also took great pride in playing darts, of which we won several first-place trophies. He spent his summers fishing and relaxing on the water. His favorite place to socialize and meet his friends to play Club Keno was The Savoy. His love for life and sense of humor will always resonate in our lives.

Chester was preceded in death by his son, Chester Bishop, Jr.; parents, George and Ardelia Bishop; two sisters; and five brothers.

He leaves precious memories with his loving companion, Louise “Petie” Lent; seven children, Richard (Pat) Bishop, Dora Ann Bishop, LaFran Bishop, LaMonte Buckley, Larry Buckley, Kourtney Bishop, Kristen (Rob) Winters; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Daisy Bishop; two brothers, Ulysses Wright, Sr., Albert Johnson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
