Chester Murphy lovingly known as Carl departed this earthly life on Monday, June 22, 2015. He was born June 21, 1952 in Cambridge, Alabama to Willie F. Murphy and Mary L.Muh Murphy.
Carl was united in matrimony to Earline (Davis) Murphy; to this union two children were born, Armon K. Murphy and Tamara N. (Kevin) Hayles. He was a dutiful member of The Spiritual Israel Church and its Army under the leadership of Pastor Joseph Grace of Saginaw, Michigan until his unexpected death. He served as a respectful Deacon; he also cooked and served many Sunday afternoon and holiday dinners for both his natural and spiritual families. He was the family designated grill master; known for smoking up the neighborhood grilling at any time of the day or night. Carl was a loving husband who loved his wife, affectionately known as his rose. He was firm but caring because he loved you. Family was always welcomed into his home to share love, his wisdom, laughter, his love for music, sports and his famous uncle C cuisines. Carl retired from General Motors (BOC) Lansing, Michigan September 2006.
Carl leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Earline Murphy; five children, Carl Deon (Jodie) Murphy, Chester Demarco (Bethesda) Murphy, Ciara (Robert) Davis, Armon K. Muphy and Tamara N. (Kevin) Hayles; four brothers and two sisters, Marvin Murphy Sr., Sanford (Darlene) Murphy, Kennon (Karen) Murphy, Linda J. Murphy, Vickie Murphy-Aghamoali and Anthony Murphy; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild, one godson and goddaughter; a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Carl was preceded in death by his father Willie F. Murphy, mother, Mary Louise Muh Murphy, brother, Jonathan (Jon) Murphy, aunt, Linnie Thomas and uncle, Lafayette McCarden.
Visitation: Wednesday, July 1, 2015 - 9:00 a.m. until time of service
