Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Chrestina T. Nerio Muneca passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at her residence. Age 79 years. She was born October 4, 1934 in Pearsall, Texas to Antonio and Josefa (Gutierrez) Trevino.
Chrestina was joined in holy matrimony with Filiberto Nerio on September 8, 1951. He preceded her in death. She was employed at Abeles Greenhouse. Chrestina was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed dancing, tending to her flowers and plants, knitting and listening to music. Chrestina also enjoyed playing Bingo. Her wonderful presence will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Maria (Santiago Jr.) Mejia and Margo (Richard) Santoya; one son, Noel Nerio; a grand-daughter and nephew whom she raised as her own, Jamie Lynn Nerio and Manuel Rios; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Maria Rios and Adelina Rodriguez; two brothers, Felix and John Trevino; several nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
Chrestina was preceded in death by her husband, Filiberto Nerio; three sons, Ruben, Gilberto and Filiberto Nerio; one daughter, Diana Nerio.
The family wishes to express special thanks to her nephew, Robert Charo, grandson, Ruben Santino Mejia and granddaughter, Jamie Nerio for being her compassionate caregivers.
