Clara Pittman (Lansing)

Clara Mae Robinson-Pittman passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Medilodge of Capital Area in Lansing, Michigan. Age 89 years. She was born June 11, 1927 in Fayetteville, Georgia to Frank and Etta Victoria Robinson.

Clara relocated to Lansing, Michigan in 1952. She became a member of Union Baptist Church under Reverend Joel L. King, where she attended on a regular basis until her health started to fail. Clara was a faithful member of the Gospel and Senior Choirs. She worked at J. C. Penneys in Downtown Lansing. Clara also worked at Michigan State University retiring in 1990 after 25 years of service. She enjoyed a peaceful retirement that included traveling, shopping and cooking. Clara was an excellent cook. For the last five years of her life, Clara was a resident of Medilodge of Capital Area in Lansing. While her stay there was an extended one, she made the best of her newfound digs. Clara actively participated in weekly events including Bible study, Bingo, going to movies, and helping the staff until her health kept her from participation.

After a long fight with major health problems, Clara received her Heavenly Wings on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 10:01 p.m. Her earthly vessel broke down in its physical being, she completed her earthly lifes journey and made her way to Gods Stairway to Heaven for her Masters Heavenly House to dwell with Him forever in her new Heavenly Body.

She leaves to cherish her memory sister, Ruby B. Phifer; nieces, Janet, Pat and Tracey Robinson, and Kim Whitfield, all of Lansing, Michigan; nephews, Terry Johnson, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Rev. David Robinson, Cornelius Robinson, Elmer Phifer Jr., Myron Phifer, Edward Robinson, Richard Robinson, James of Nashville, Tennessee, Michael Phifer of Union City, Georgia; cousins, Luedella Henderson, Lucille Simpson, Steven, Erica and Simone Robinson, Linda Hodge, Mary Hart and Shirley Middlebrook; sister-in-law, Mattie Robinson; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Arthur J., Solomon D., Howard J., Frank, Jr., and Robert Lee Robinson; sisters-in-law, Virginia, Bessie and Ophia Robinson; and brother-in-law, Elmer Phifer Sr.
