Mrs. Clara B. Roby, loving mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, passed away suddenly, September 1, 2017 at Avista Nursing Rehab and Hospice. Age 79 years. She was born August 31, 1938 in Sallis, Mississippi to Alonzo ”Jack” and Lou Annie Kitchen.
During her journey, Clara enjoyed cooking, laughing, and spending time with family and friends. She accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ while attending Mount Nebo Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Willie Hill. Clara’s presence and loving smile will be truly missed by all those who loved her dearly.
She leaves to cherish loving memories her children, Willie James (Amy) Roby, Willie Earl Roby, Robert Earl (Marcia) Roby, Kinnie (Maurice) Craig, Annie Roby, Veneson (Priscilla) Roby, and Clairenet Roby; four brothers, L.D, J.W., McArthur, and John Kitchen; five sisters, Nettie Roby, Irene Harmon, Annie Bea Allen, Elsie Luckett, and Mattie Rogers; nineteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends, including special longtime friends, Sadie and Ruthie.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo ”Jack” and Lou Annie Kitchen; husband; one son; four brothers; one sister; and one great-great grandson.
