Our beloved father Clarence Joyner, Sr. was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2024. He was born to Elizabeth and Elton Joyner, Sr. on Monday, March 22, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee.
Our dad accepted Christ at an early age and attended Cane Creek Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee. He was employed at St. Patrick’s Cemetery before he retired. On June 4, 1976, he was joined in marriage to Ms.Tommie Jean Cathey and they were happily married for 39 years until her death in 2015.
Billy, as he was affectionately called, loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his entire family. He also loved doing puzzles, fishing, and listening to his Blues music.
He leaves to cherish sweet memories, three daughters, Tammie (Otis Wain) Wright of Memphis, Tennessee; Kathy Harris, and Tracie (Christopher) Johnson of Bay City, Michigan; two sons, Elton (April) Joyner and Clarence Jr. (Carrie) Joyner of Bay City, Michigan; one sister, Glenda Jefferys; one sister-in-law, Marcee Jefferys; grandchildren, Gage Wendling, Marcus Joyner, Brandy Joyner, Jaiwan Joyner, Kaiwan Harris, Alajuwan Harris, Desmond Glaza, Clarence Glaza, Tessa Kosecki, Isabella Joyner, Daniella Russell, Alana Joyner, and Ryleigh Lapka; six great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Clarence Sr. was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tommie Jean Joyner; son, Marcus Antonio Joyner; grandson, Terrance Gillard; two sisters, Freddie Brooks, and Faye Joyner; two brothers, Willie Jefferys, Anthony Jefferys; two sisters-in-law, Vassanta Jefferys, and Gina Jefferys.
